The Guild DND & TTRPG
FAQs
How do I join/learn more?
The Guild runs a shared-universe DND campaign comprised of one-shots. This means that games are not traditionally fixed table rosters as one might expect but rather are drop-in/drop-out style one-shots as part of an interconnected story that boasts over 70 players.
Games are run by our illustrious Guild Masters as well as a rotating cast of guest Dungeon Masters on a regular schedule of (weather permitting) Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays - with some Fridays for special events!
To begin, you'll need to have an in-house character rolled up. We create these either during scheduled character creation days or with the help of one of our Guild Masters. Character creation days and intro games for beginner players are posted in our TTRPG channels; see the roles in the Channels & Roles section to set your TTRPG role and access these channels.
When you're ready to play or learn more, simply tag the @Guild Master role in our New Player channel (new-player) on discord and a GM will poof in to assist you get you all set up for your first game.

Once you've got your in-house character with a GM and are ready to join the campaign, head back to Channels & Roles to get your "DND One-shots (Campaign 2)" role - @Outriders-and get those math rocks out!
NOTE: Players are expected to familiarize themselves with the player Code of Conduct and sign this when arriving to play their first game. This document stipulates that we are an open, inclusive, and supportive community - please see the rules channel for more information.
How do I run my own games?
Anyone is welcome to post in the boardgame-looking-for-group forum channel for board games or the one specifically for the TTRPG role (ttrpg-looking-for-group ) and self-organize a game. Whether it's DaD or any other TTRPG, you and your fellow players just pay the usual game fee at the register up front and find a good spot to get comfy; if there isn't a scheduled game running in the back room or one scheduled to start while your game is going on, you're also more than welcome to use the back room's gaming table!
Where can I find those handbooks/the DM code of conduct?
They are on the FAQ channel of our discord. Join Discord today by clicking on the link :
How do I become a DM at the Guild?
We are not currently adding more guest DM's to our roster however should this change in the future please stay tuned in the ttrpg-updates channel or guild-general-news. At the very least, we recommend you play a few games with the community beforehand and introduce yourself to the Guild Masters so you get a feel for the setting they ve constructed and the tone of the players and sessions.
NOTE: As a DM or GM at the Guild for any official game, you will first need to read and sign the Code of Conduct.
Where can I give feed back to the owners as a D&D player?
You can always reach out to the owners via discord or email them at gunksgamingguild@gmail.com -but there's this handy dandy feedback form located in the FAQ channel of our discord
I'm new to the server - why can't I post yet?
As a safety and security feature to avoid bots and spam, we have enabled a 10-minute wait period for new members to ensure you're human.
We're sorry for the inconvenience but hey, if you were a computer, ten minutes is hardly any time at all, right?

Meet the Guild Masters:
Jessica
Jessi is a writer from New Paltz who started playing D&D five years ago to help bring fantasy stories to life. As a GM at the guild, she’s committed to running neuro-inclusive games to show everyone has a place in D&D, even if you’re new or nervous about a bustling new social environment. Her main campaign 2 arc has focused on influences from 19th century China and eldritch horror.
Simon Clément
Simon has been living in New Paltz for a couple years now, after spending the last 15 years between France and the US. He started playing TTRPGs, including DND, 15 years ago, and has been DMing for 5 years. Having only played or DMed home-made settings, until joining the Guild last year, he didn't know any official DND lore or story, showing it is really not a prerequisite to join!
Simon's plotlines are often relatively down-to-earth, centered around political intrigue and classic fantasy themes, and he is known for running (very) challenging fights. Also, for some reason, his NPCs all have a French accent...
Alice Hoagland
Alice is a southern trans woman who still own's her 3rd edition D&D starter set. As a GM she champions creating a safe and inviting space for Queer and Femme presenting players. Her Campaign 2 plotlines involve heavy use of gothic and undead themes (Liches, Vampires, Wights and Zombies... so many Zombies) through dungeon crawls, puzzles and intense combat!
Rafael Colón
Some Boricua who found his way into D&D after first playing Pathfinder with friends many moons ago. I love films, anime, and, video games so I've grabbed a lot of my narrative inspirations/themes/symbols from those mediums. As a GM I've been passionate in running sessions with elements that involve political intrigue, strategy, navel, exploration, "Kaiju"/Mech battles and moral philosophy.
Rob Egan
Rob lives in New Paltz with his wife and two daughters and they are a family of dice goblins. He started playing D&D in May 2020 and instantly connected with the hobby. He's been a professional DM for two years and enjoys the collaborative and improvisational nature of D&D.
When he's not running games at the Guild Rob also co-hosts a YouTube channel, Boss Battles, where he takes D&D live play and smashes it together with Sports Commentary...kind of.
